Oman Air is the sole catering supplier for all In-flight
meals at Muscat International Airport, established since 1981
Oman Air has an excellent record of professional and high quality service
standards. The company has a strong emphasis on customer
service this enabled the company to receive the ISO 9001 award
certificate in 2000.
The catering
unit has the state of the art catering facility at Muscat
International Airport, a 10,000 sq meter premises inaugurated in
2002 is reputed to be the most modern within the Gulf region and
boasts a full in–house production capability, currently
producing in excess of 12,000 meals per day to almost a dozen of
Airline clients, the unit is operational 24/7 with a dedicated
workforce of 400 skilled professionals.
The
production kitchens have a compliment in excess of 140 Chefs
from 13 different Nationalities covering the globe, thus
ensuring authentic preparations are always achieved. The bakery
and patisserie section has recently been upgraded to produce
freshly baked Lebanese & Arabic breads in addition to its
ability to produce Arabic sweets and a full range of products.
A fleet of 18
Air conditioned High loader Trucks form the basis of the
Operations section with an addition fleet of smaller Vans on
hand for any Airline requirements. A fully equipped Laboratory
with lab technicians / Microbiologists ensure the highest of
hygiene standards are achieved in accordance with HACCP
guidelines.
The catering
department also offers a full laundering and dry cleaning
service from its modern facility – which currently handles all
airline requirements, crew and staff uniforms in addition to
providing services to local 5 star hotels.
Oman Air
catering provides a varied blend of menu concepts especially
tailored to compliment the many destinations within any
network. All menus are prepared using Halal methods which are
meticulously prepared ensuring the best of ingredients are
always used. Oman Air catering provides a wide range of special
meals for those who have dietary or religious requirements –
these can be requested when making the flight booking.
