Due to the increase in passenger movements during the last few years, especially during the Khareef and the seasonally charter flights, a new expanded international arrivals is currently under the design stage and is to be tendered soon, the modified area will provide:

• Additional baggage claim conveyor belt to provide a separation between the domestic and international passengers.
• More immigration counters and queuing space.
• Additional toilets facilities for the comfort of passengers

Completed Development
In order to meet the demand for the short term passenger growth at Salalah Airport, recent interim expansions in 2007 have included the expansion of the public arrivals concourse area, the expansion of the departures area and adding additional check in counters from the previous 6 to the current 10 counters and adding additional immigration counters at both arrivals and departures, these expansions have resulted in smoother and faster flow of passengers.

The ongoing modification of the terminal building at Salalah Airport is in line with the government’s commitment to establish infrastructural facilities that can keep pace with the world markets, future modification plans will include the expansion of the arrivals area and adding additional conveyer belts for retrieving baggage.
