Muscat International Airport won the best airport award for staff service in the Middle East region for the second year in a row, this was awarded by Skytrax at the World Airport Award 2012 held at the Passenger Terminal Expo in Vienna recently.
According to an official from Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC), this award is based on the results of the passenger survey completed in a 10-month period, covering over 388 global airports, travellers from over 160 countries took part in the world’s largest annual airport passenger satisfaction survey which evaluates the total passenger experience and satisfaction across 39 airport service and product features, from arrival at an airport, through transit and departure processes to the boarding gate. Since 1999, the annual airport customer survey has been respected for clarity and independence.
The World Airport Award is the global benchmark for airport excellence and quality ranking, known as the Passenger’s choice awards, the awards operate on a not-for-profit basis, and the sole directive is for real customers to make their own and honest choices.
Salem Awadh Al-Yafey, Salalah Airport Director received the award on behalf of Oman Airports Management Company at the World Airport Award function held at the Passenger Terminal Expo in Vienna.
The award confirms the keenness of officials and employees in all government and private sector organizations operating within the airport, the award recognizes the high quality of front line staff at Muscat International Airport which seeks to maximize customer service and satisfaction.
Muscat International Airport aims to continue to build on this recent success based on the huge efforts by its valued team of front line staff working at the airport from the different organizations and stakeholders, this will further prepare the staff to operate the new Muscat International Airport which will provide high quality customer services and facilities .
Muscat International Airport also won the same award as the second best Airport in the Middle East last year.
